    Viking lake report from 6/20/20

So I was able to get my 18ft bass boat on the water pretty easy, I was at the main ramp, water temp was 79* at the start (6:15am) 80* at the end of fishing 12:00pm. I did really good on numbers of bass 15/20ish 14” and 1 4lb & 1 3lb. Those bigger fish made me feel so good. Best bait for me was the chatter bait. I would say it is 8’maybe 10’ low so no docks . I just backed off the trailer and pulled up beside it and beached it. Glad I got a keel guard lol then power poled down. 2 others boats there and 2 yaks. The bass seemed beat up had sores and they didn’t look very heathy? Could just be the late spawners and guard bass haven’t fully healed up yet. All & all good time I will go back soon. We could sure use some rain that would help the lakes and the farmers a ton.

It could be from the drawn out spawn. The bass at green valley were the skinniest that I’ve ever seen in an Iowa lake.
