They'll get on the ledges when the current is right. I haven't found that in a long time But you can also go to the backs of the creeks

Timing seems to have been funny this year. They moved out later than usual. You should have been hitting it about right for offshore. The BFL guys that did well last weekend were mostly offshore. Were you fishing the lower end?

I was offshore Wednesday. We caught 10-12 between 1:00 and 2:00 in the middle of the day. No current, no wind, flat water. It was actually unpleasant with the heat and humidity but it's been a long time since I caught them like that. When the crankbait wasn't getting bit I switched to a 10" Red Shad Power worm and caught a couple that way also. Most of these fish were right at 3lbs each. It was fun for a change.

Like I said, it's been a lonnggg time I want to say at least 2 generators running, but I know there's a lot more to it that could affect that (i.e. spill gates, etc). Haven't done any ledge fishing in several years.

Now that’s an understatement. That lake is always tough but from August on it really bad in my opinion. That’s why I quit fishing tournaments years ago. The fish off was in fall and I couldn’t catch a cold. Of course someone always finds them.

I love Old Hickory from now until Thanksgiving. It can be feast or famine but when you find them it’s on.

Glad to see all the matted grass on Old Hickory today. I haven't been out there since spring and today I found lots of nice green matted grass. Sadly the fish didn't want he rat today, but that's just a matter of being there at the right time. Water temps were 83-87 depending on in the river or back in a cove in the afternoon.

John I haven't had much consistent luck the rat either but I'm not real committed to it. The grass is crazy aint it. I was out there the other day graphing and when I went for a ride to cool off the 4 stroke shut down quickly with the overheat. Raised the motor, saw the large clump of grass, lower the motor, start and put in reverse and then take off again. That stuff is gonna get some attention if it keeps spreading. I've seen it pretty solid all the way 109 down Cedar Creek and there's more than that. Fishing is gonna change .

Went to Old Hickory today for the first time in a couple of years. Late summer early fall patterns still produce. 106E5683-730D-4D96-9B29-E1B66B007D74.jpeg543C4AD8-5478-4682-9F40-650597179EFE.jpeg

Sad to see as many carp as I did though. They are everywhere. Thousands of them. Tried to get some pictures of them. You can see some of them in the pictures but there were hundreds in the schools. I haven't noticed schools of carp yet....that's bad. What part of the lake? And in a creek?

Main lake is where I saw schools of them. Just like KY lake, where I grew up, schooled where bass should be. I was above Flippers’s/109
