A Tempest+ 23-24-25 should run well on that boat. Which one depends on load and max rpm.

I used to have a 461VS with a 175 Mercury on it. I ran a 24P Trophy Plus and loved it. Holeshot was great.

Is the motor a new four stroke or a 2 stroke model, it makes a big difference since the new 4 stroke models turn smaller props than the old 2 strokes.

It’s a brand new 4 stroke pro Xs 175. It’s on order so deciding on what’s the best prop.

There I go assuming again. With a 4S, you’ll need to run a lower pitch, maybe a 21-23”,still a Tempest+ though,IMO.Four strokes don’t have the low end torque of two strokes so a lower pitch prop is needed for a good hole shot

Four strokes have far more low end torque than two strokes, The reason for the lower pitch is two fold, the newer gearcases will allow you to get really low prop slip numbers when set up correctly. The new four strokes develop peak horsepower at higher RPM, thus the need to drop about two pitch sizes, You are probably close on the the pitch size though. I would consider a TXP for that boat as well as the tempest, prop it to achieve about 5850 to 5900 loaded this time of year
    Thank You Leon Pugh
