I've been invited on a trip to Chicamauga in July. It's a 12 hour drive from New Jersey. Is it worth the drive?

Yes the night bite is a ball. The lake is full of tanks trying to take your bait from you every time you get a bite.
Gun Control..... Is hitting your target every time
Also if your not taking a boat there is an airport just a few miles from the lake you could fly in.

no
keep working,your neighbor thanks you
Nope.
Not in July.
Too hot, too humid, too difficult to fish.
How is summertime boat traffic? Are the fish offshore on the main lake? I'm thinking combining these two scenarios and it would not be fun.

Boat traffic has been like the weekend through the week and like the 4th of July on the weekends. It's been rough.
Fish will be on ledges but they'll also be up in the grass. Probably better to fish grass by then anyway because those ledge fish get beat to death and leave.
It's never a bad time to fish chick, but July through September and even October are tough months unless you're going out at night.
In all honesty, Chick has an incredible amount of bass boat traffic due to its reputation, not to mention the pleasure boaters from Chattanooga. Yes, offshore is your best bet but it fishes small. If you want to get some idea, follow along with the FLW "super" tourney that runs Tuesday, June 23rd through Friday, June 26th. The first 2 days there will be over 200 pros fishing, the vast majority offshore.
