25P Tempest Plus to Fury 4????

I have Z9 with a 2014 250 Pro XS turning a 25P Tempest Plus how does that convert to a Fury 4???? Most days with a tournament load and partner I'm only getting 61-62 mph at 5600 RPM's. By myself and light I get 69 mph and 5900 rpms. I've tried a 24P and 25P Fury 3 and they both run like crap. Thinking a Fury 4 might get me some bow lift???

The 24 Fury 4 will run close to the same rpm with slightly more rpm. Lift, hole shot and overall performance should increase. Will loose maybe 2 mph.

The Fury 4 will be faster with a load than you tempest because it carries a load better. On my ranger with a load i can run a 25 tempest at 5900 and 70 mph and a 25 fury 3 blade at 5800 and 68 loaded and with my 25 fury 4 i can run 72 loaded at 5800 and light load it will hit right at 6000 and 74 mph. By far my fury 4 is the best prop I’ve run for all around performance. If im not fishing and just running the st johns with the wife i put my fury 3 on and run right at 5900/6000 and 75

Although I completely agree with sblnchrd, if your only getting 61 - 62mph in a Z9 with a 250 with one partner something else is wrong. I don't run a Nitro but it doesn't add up. Do you have a hydraulic jack plate? what hole is your motor mounted in? How much are you trimming up, is your trim gauge accurate? and how do you have the Tempest plugged? Also I would run a Bravo 1 XS or one of Croxton's Razor 4's before a Fury 4. Fury 4's are prone to slinging blades. Some may never have had an issue, but they are in a small crowd.

my observation on props fury 3 to fury 4 pitch for pitch, fury 3 to tempest go up 1 pitch on tempest, tempest to bravo 1 xs go up 2 pitchs on bravo 1 xs also fury runs at least 1/2 inch lower than tempest, bravo 1 xs runs about 3/4 inch higher than tempest

Would you be willing to sell the 25 tempest plus?

Better make sure you are actually getting full throttle first, sure sounds like it is not based on those numbers and coming up with a light load, Hold it wide and make sure the butterfly is vertical in the throttle body
The 25 tempest should be be getting you about 69 to 72 at 5900 tournament loaded and 71 to 74 running light with good conditions with the correct Prop to Pad setting
24 fury a little better and better hole shot
Don't think you have prop issue, Setup and more than likely a performance issue with the motor or gear case, Change the gear lube to be sure there is no metal or water in it
Fury 4 is a really nice driving prop but you will drop at least 2 mph with it compared to the other props setup correctly
Also take long straight edge and check the running pad to be sure it is flat, I have heard of some Nitros in that era having hooks in the hull and that will really kill it
One more there should be nothing such as transducers mounted on the pad that can disturb water flow to the lower unit

Sorry for delayed response. Not on BBC as much as I’d like anymore. Yes I went one pitch down on a bravo xs. Holeshot on bravo was a tad better but lost 4 mph and for me losing 4 mph for the tad bit of difference on holeshot wasn’t worth it for me to loose the 4 mph.

See post 10, I really doubt you have prop problem, motor, setup, or hull
