Full size two door SUV'S & old trucks

I always liked the big two door SUV'S.

A neighbor put his 2000 2500 series Chevy work truck on the road with a sign in the windshield for 4800 bucks, supposedly has 70K miles...looks extremely clean. Me and the Mrs were checking it out on our walk today. Trucks and SUV's back in the 70's through 90's were just pretty plain utility machines compared to the choices today. I bet an old clean 2 door Bronco, K series GM, or Ramcharger would fetch a fortune today.

Wife said she would like to have an old Bronco(late 60s early 70s model) to knock around in. I started researching and was blown away at what they bringing now.

I had a 1980 and then a 1979 full size Bronco. Both were favorite vehicles of mine and I kicked myself after getting rid of them. I know Ford is remaking these, but I really doubt they will be anywhere near the same as the originals were. Sure the technology and everything will be off the charts, but there was just something basic about both those vehicles that I really liked.

Does the 2500 have the 6.0 liter engine? Our 2002 1500HD with the 6.0 has been a good truck, with minimal repairs.

Last week, I saw a brand-new Blazer and started laughing. No comparison to a 1970’s Blazer.

I had a 95 2dr Tahoe, 96 2dr Z71 swb pickup, 97 2dr Tahoe, 98 2dr Z71 stepside swb pickup, and currently have a 98 2dr Tahoe although I haven't driven it in over a year so not sure what gremlins are going to show up when I put a new battery and new gas in it.

I always loved the 2 door Tahoe/Yukon. Unfortunately most of the ones you still see are ragged out. Wanted one so bad back in high school but money was tight.

I’m in the process of looking for a 1987 Chevy pickup with a short bed. Found several and they run from$18,000 to $30,000 depending on condition. The prices I mentioned are very clean , not beat up waiting for a restoration.

I’m not sure what engine it has? The sign says a new long block was installed at 55,000 miles. I’m sure it’s an older owner and the truck appears garage kept. If I needed a truck that would be a good one to buy. I had a 97 3500 single axle Silverado with a 5.7. One of only a handful I’ve kept more than five years. I had a 6.0 Escalade as well. The 6.0 is stout!

There is a company called Gateway Bronco that rebuilds/ builds Ford Broncos. They are nice but way out of my price range.

70K not hard to believe . I have a 99 Ford F 150 4x4 big engine with 86k on it. Paint is still like new upholstery has been covered since the day I bought it. Replaced cover a few years ago seats look like new. I could buy a new truck but why this one serves its purpose plus its paid for and I hate car, truck PMTS. I had a 86 bronco prior to that bought it new also kind of wish sometimes that I had kept it.

Would love to find a 2 door, short bed V8 truck which would fit in my garage. No luck so far.

I would love to find a brand new F150 1980 Custom with dual fuel tanks, 4*4, 300 straight six. Have one and have driven the crap out of it. Just keeps going. Not much to look at. Need to sell it to someone that just needs a farm truck. Been a great one for me.

That 300 straight 6 was a very good motor.

Mine were definitely original but definitely not mint, lol. I think that's what I liked most about them.

I really love the 2 door Tahoe from the early 90s. I had a ‘92 Z71 but it was a long bed. I keep telling myself I’m going to fin either a 2 door Tahoe or short bed 2wd early 90s Chevy and put a nice LS7 and 4l80e in it and have a plain but awesome truck that has 450hp and gets 20mpg!

Either that or an OJ Bronco with a Coyote motor/whipple charger!

I swear im going to do it some day!

My Uncle has a 91 white 2wd Chevrolet 2dr swb 350 that he bought brand new, has between 80-120k miles on it (haven't asked him in a while). He takes in town about once a week and still keeps up with the maintenance, looks new.
