    Humminbird 898c HD gps question

I recently purchased a used humminbird 898c hd with side imaging and gps. Does anyone know if you have to have the gps puck for the gps/navionics to work? If so, does anyone have the part number so I can purchase from somewhere. I know it's a older unit, but my 4in hook doesn't have the slot for the navionics card, or I'd just use it for waypoints

You won't have GPS or mapping, or Chart menu without an added GPS antenna.

You can use the AS GRP which is GPS only.
You can use the AS GPS HS which is GPS and a Heading Sensor.

Thanks, I figured the gps antenna was needed, do you know if humminbird still sells those? Quick search earlier and could find a model number, but not what units they fit

They are the current GPS accessory antennas. They work with every Humminbird unit that is a GPS model. There are dozens of dealers that would have them.

Awesome, wasn't sure if the unit connections were universal or not. Thanks for all the help
