I have the Xuron #496 pliers. Have a hard time opening small split rings and putting the hook on. Any smaller plies available?

I use these, work for me
I use the Zurons for small oval rings, how small are you talking?
Wash your hands and say your prayers, cause Jesus and germs are everywhere.
It might just be me and my advanced age but pulling a split ring apart and adding a hooks can be very hard.
Red Sox in 6!
I also use Xuron with ultralight lure split ring with no problem. Maybe that big blade get in the way when you try to open it.
These are the ones I use for split rings:

The Xuron ones you mention I use for everything down to tiny split rings on ice fishing jigs and spoons. I think they're the best you can get for this task.

I've had a set of Bass Pro ones for the longest but when working with small rings I found it difficult so I bought the Xuron #496 after reading some threads on here and I really like them, especially for smaller sizes.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Like I mention I was trying to upgrade the small ring on VMC bladed treble hook. I tried it again and the blade keeps me opening the ring. The nose of the pliers will not go into the opening. So being 77yrs old and a bad case CRS, I reread the reviews on the bladed hook and it's not the split ring, the swivel pulls of out treble hook. Must be a bad design. Glad it is not the 496 pliers, I brought them because so many of you guys recommended them. Thanks again
Texas Tackle makes a great pair also.
the orange handle texas tackle are great for the smaller rings for your own tokyo rigs
