Playing with Newbies

Wife and I will take Grandson and SIL out today.
Grandson is an athlete but is trying to learn golf.
SIL is going to try it too!
So hopefully the round will be fun and faster than they will like.
I have a great chance to reduce my used golf ball inventory.
And we have imposed a 10 stroke limit maximum per hole.

Well they played much better than expected.
We had a team competition-my wife and grandson against me and SIL-Total of both scores on each hole-Shamble.
SIL only lost 2 used balls and grandson only lost 2. Not bad.
SIL had a couple of pars and played very well for him as he had not played in 5 years.
Grandson hit the last green in regulation with an 8 iron to a par 5.
Wife birdied a par 3.
Scores-40 for me, 44 for wife, 52 for SIL and 56 for Grandson.
Actually we all had a lot of fun and played rather fast.
I think they may try it when they return to Austin.
Nice warm summer day. Thank goodness for the breeze.
