    Brake Trouble shooting help please

So my trailer is making a huge clunking/banging noise when I accelerate. When I jack the trailer up and use a screwdriver I can get the brakes to engage. I can back up without the lights plugged in as well. This is a Phoenix Trailer with a UFP A60 actuator. My question is could this be caused by air in the line or should I be looking more at the solenoid or shock in the actuator? Thanks in advance

    Can be many things.
Shock can cause slop and noise when accelerating from a stoped condition.
Air in brakes can cause noise.
    Low break fluid same thing.
If you are able to back up and not have the harness connected to the vehicle, the reverse solenoid could be bad.
What is the lever of the fluid?
I replaced the whole actuator 3 years ago.

I'd be looking at the shock, but backing up without the electric connected on a disc brake trailer is a very bad sign unless you are backing down a hill.

Being able to back up means your brakes don’t work. Odds are your fluid is low and the brakes need bleeding.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.
