17lbs. Is it a 3 fish limit because of the time of year?

Curious about the 3-fish limit also. A self-imposed conservation measure? It will certainly be a field leveler when faced with a difficult fishery.

3fish limit Absolutely a field leveler! I would guess 16lb wins it

The water isn’t that warm really for a 3 fish limit. Maybe since the lake is fishing tough they expected low weights anyway.

There is no release boat for this tournament. All of the fish are being released into Kentucky dam Marina Bay. Not good I don't think

Buddy of mine won the Co Angler, said his fish come south of Paris on a crank bait. Said he caught 7 keepers all day good for 11 and change.

Actually the weight of 12-9 is not bad for a three fish limit. Had they held that average and had five fish you're looking at 20 lbs 15 oz. What I think is sad is out of around 250 people only 7 people had three fish that had a three pound average. There were a lot of zero's in the field along with a lot of single fish and low weights even with two fish...for those that have not read my comment posted before you might not get this but I think Mark Menendez sold his sole to the tourism devil and is eating crow right now.

Bolton and Moorhead combined for 4-9# in a June tournament. That is a very bad sign for the lakes.

Brandon Hunter’s fishing report was right on the money. He’s not sugar coating anything and telling you the truth, no matter how it affects his guide service. There were a lot of really good ledge fisherman in that tournament, and to catch what they did this time of year is very telling.

Sad for sure, 100% agree with Brandon Hunter "..telling it like it is...", great deal of respect for him, makes me want to take a guide trip with him even if you don't catch much. No question its tough for me, was ok this spring but fished about 7 hrs yesterday and I had 4 bites (caught 2, broke off 2 my fault for not retying) Blood River to just below Paris from 2 feet to 25 - but did catch a 5lb-1oz LG and a nice smallmouth - my buddy didn't get a single bite fishing the same stuff. I did see some bait and fry - deep and shallow - which I take a pretty good sign.

Times have changed...5 years ago this week - 2015 Bassfest...

    Good luck.

I have started catching some small fish. I didn't even catch those last year. Been averaging 2 or 3 keepers most days. Had like 6 one day. Tough compared to just 3 years ago.

I’m fishing with Brandon in a couple weeks, first time on the lake in 3 years and it ain’t sounding like there’s gonna be much catching. I might do more pool lounging than fishing if that’s the case.
