I grew up in Tahlequah. Grandpa would take me to the river all the time. We were high tech back in the day. Cane poles and hellgrammites. We would float the river before it was cool to do it. Good times.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.
I started 36 years ago with a good friend who knows the river much better than me.
Water was probably the highest that I have floated at 6 feet.
Lots of water makes more places to hide.
We didn’t get on the water till 9 each day which was after the good early dawn fishing.
That is the trouble with going commercial float.
But we needed 4 kayaks and I only have two.
We caught a few but not enough to call it a good fishing day.
My middle grandson snagged a 15+ buffalo that put up an extended fight before they wrestled it to shore.
They had fun trying to corral that dude.
Swimming and Kayaking was still fun for 3 teenagers and my SIL and me.
Beats being at home and on phones!
Fished the bikini stretch yesterday (Edmondson - No Head) and couldn’t get bit on the first few miles. Then I Stopped at a hole just before the take out and started catchin some decent fish on a jig.
