Patoka help for Grandpa and Grandson

My Brother-in-law is taking his grandson out fishing this weekend on Patoka and could use any advice they can get. I think the boy would rather fish for bass but open to catching almost anything. This probably needs to be some bank beating stuff as they do not have electronics to get off shore and do anything.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was at Patoka Monday and bass fishing was pretty slow. I mainly fished deep and only caught one. A green pumpkin shaky head just going down the bank will get you some small fish. I did still see some small bluegill on beds and around beaver huts. Boat traffic will be bad, so I would suggest going to ramps like Walls or south Lick Fork and staying away from Newton Stewart and Painter Creek.

What he said. Slow fishing. Small worms and pick whatever presentation style you want. There are still some big bass around the small bluegill, it's just tough. If they get there early enough, topwater bite is still ok.
