    Baystar Helm leak help

I have a Baystar hydraulic steering system on my Javelin Venom 18. When I fist bought the boat, it had a leak at the helm. Replaced the seals no problem about 18 months ago and now its leaking again. I didn't know if that was the usual or if something could be causing the seals to not last as long as normal. Once I replaced them last time they have had no problems up until now. Just looking for some help/guidance with someone with experience with this problem. I am just hoping to get longer than 16-18 months out of a set of helm seals. Thanks.

Maybe a burr or rough place on piece that slides threw seals. Look/feel very closely!

Baystar is not rated for a bass boat. I know it says it is rated to 150 HP but that is for a deep V hull that does not produce as high of pressures as a bass boat. Replace with a Seastar system or you will have leaks.
