Did you mean Charlton Recreation Area ? If so Lake Ouachita is just north of there and would be good to fish with a boat.

Lots of places within 1.5 hours. Shoal Bay, Blue Mountain, Ozark City Lake, Lake Fort Smith. If you have Oklahoma license, there is Eufaula, Tenkiller, Hwy 9 (Greenleaf), Wister, Cedar Lake (trolling motor only), Kerr Lake.
I’ve fished all the above extensively. My choice would be Shoal Bay in Arkansas. Oklahoma nod goes to Tenkiller or Hwy 9.
