Locking hatch latch source

The boat i'm working on has the above style locking latch. From my searching, these seem to be lower priced than the rest, however, they do not latch when you close the lid. Maybe that's why?
I'm looking at this style - https://www.boatoutfitters.com/white-flush-slam-latch .
Does anyone have experience with them? Durability, Longevity, etc. I need 9 of them, pricing WILL be an issue.
If you know of a better locking latch, for similar price, please advise of such. For the color, I was thinking white or black. Boat will be white, with red EVA faux foam flooring. Have fears the chrome will have glare issues.

I had the Sarasota latches on the 89 Sabre I just did. I went with Perko from the BCB store.

I almost went with these which were a little cheaper. BTW, I got a lot of stuff from Wholesale Marine, they had great prices on a lot of things.
