Anyone put 4 batteries in your AVX 1980?

Has anyone put 4 batteries in your AVX 1980? I'm thinking of adding a fourth (second starting battery to help with all the graphs and livescope) and just wondering if anyone has already done this. I'd love to see how I should arrange them. Should I rotate the middle battery and add a second in the middle? Any help would be great.

i have two 100 amp ionics on the port side, 1 100 amp in the middle and a 125 amp on the starboard side. it works very and balanced. the charger (4) bank sits between the center battery and the transom. i do have a 2080 but not much difference in a 1980.

I find all those exposed terminals really scary. Bad stuff can happen.

It may not be the best practice but I don’t see anything loose except for a rope.

Last summer we had a scary incident at work; one of our field staff, a young lady of about 25, (not saying anything negative re gender as we have some dudes way dumber than her) was transporting equipment in the back of a pick up with a cap. As she was cruising down the road she luckily checked the rearview mirror an noticed smoke in the back. She had a cool enough head to stop the truck, grab the fire bottle and put the fire out. Just bad luck.

Something had shifted an shorted the terminals on a loose battery she was carrying. Needless to say, NO MORE unboxed batteries in trucks.

Hey sj88 - I'm thinking of buying a 2080 and putting 2 graphs on the bow, one being livescope. What size do you have on the bow and are you happy with the selection? Would you go bigger, smaller or different mounting positions?

    Appreciate the insights.
