Hey guys,
I have some scratches in my engine cowl from ducking under tree branches and what not. They're not super deep and I'm pretty sure they'll buff out. My question is, will there be buffer marks and what not on the area that is noticeable compared to the rest of the cowl that I didn't touch.
I was planning on using the following process to buff out the scratches:
- Hit it with Marine 31 Heavy Oxidation Cutter with a light cutting pad
- 2nd step would be Marine 31 Carnuba Wax & Sealant with a polishing pad
- Final step of Marine 31 Polish with a finishing pad
I'll be using a dual action polisher from Harbor Freight.
This is same stuff and process I used to take out oxidation in the gelcoat and remove minor scratches. I'm totally open to different products or processes to remove the scratches and make it look new again.
Thanks!
