    Aluminum Lid Fabricated

The lid on my center storage compartment was cracked, a kid in my club is a welder and fabricated me a new one out of 1/4" aluminum. Turned out great. Cost me a Deps 175.

looks good, except for the exposed hinge ! Why didn't you use the old Piano Hinge ? Or even get a new Piano Hinge.

On this lid the hinge screws into the side of the deck. That area was pretty chewed up from one of the previous owners who obviously replaced some screws. I filled all of those hole with peanut butter but still thought that through bolting an exposed hinge would be the best choice.
