    Vessel View override SmartCraft?

    Serial No. 1B736667
    2009 Ranger Z520 w/ a 250 ProXs

I recently installed a Mercury Vessel View and used it on the water for the first time yesterday. My SmartCraft gauge did not power on at all, but my Vessel View was working, although it took awhile to get going.

Does anyone know if the Vessel View and SmartCraft can both run simultaneously? I'm not sure if I have an unrelated problem with my SmartCraft gauge or if the Vessel View completely replaces the SmartCraft to where it's no longer functional.

    Thanks-

If you installed vessel view mobile, you had to disconnect Smartcraft, no?

Both devices you mentioned can operate together at the same time, if they were connected with a junction block.

Or... you didn't mention you would be using BOTH when you purchased your system. Relatively straightforward- get with Rhonda for a 4-gang Junction Block, install it at the CONSOLE.

Plug all devices and the engine 10-pin into the J-box, cap the spare port and you should be good. Strongly suggest you wait to plug the VV-Mobile in until your Vessel View is up and live (THEN plug the mobile in... this helps to prevent the possibility of the "Mobile" unit hi-jacking the Helm-1 or Master position).

    Thanks everyone.

Don - I'll get in touch with Rhonda to order a J-box. Appreciate the guidance as always!
