Triton - thinks it’s in gear

Motor won’t turn over unless I wiggle and mess with the gear/throttle a few times. This happens even when the throttle has not been moved since last time it was started. What’s the deal?

I’ve tried looking up the part to buy but can’t find. Any ideas on how to find what I need?

Push comes to shove they should be easy to bypass. Of course you'll have to pay attention because your starter will engage wile the boat's in gear.

You should be able to contact your local triton dealer to find the part.

This has nothing to do with triton, I'm assuming you have a Mercury engine put this on the Mercury page.and you will get more answers
