Has anybody replace trolling motor on these boats? Can't figured out how to go about mounting an minn kota ultrex. Really dont want bass pro to do it.

There should be a carpeted piece of aluminum up front that you can remove to get your hand in there. It's tight and a 2-person job but you should be able to get it done fine. With the Ultrex you put the mount on the nose of the boat before you secure the motor itself to the mount so not quite awkward as some trolling motors I've dealt with.

I have a PT 170 TX that I removed the stock Motor Guide 12V motor originally and installed a Motor Guide Tour 36V, then changed that to an Ultrex. I cut the access hole larger so I could get my arm in far enough to reach the front bolts to put washers and lock nuts on them. I crash into trees and stumps a lot and did not want to depend on the Motor Guide rubber isolators to hold.

Could not reach the front holes at the very end . Just drilled 2 holes about 1.1/2inches closer to be bolted down . Nice and sturdy , not going anywhere.( drilled the holes in trolling motor mount)
