Hey was wandering what most of you had prop to pad on your merc 4 strokes. I’m right at 3” and have one hole left to move down but it’s on the jack plate. So if I wanna move it I’m going to have to hoist the motor to do it.

Idk my prop to pad measurement but I moved my motor all the way down and with the jack plate all the way down, it runs the best.
.
My G2 came mounted about 4 1/2 inches from the factory, runs very well so i never messed with it!
I have a 2019. I’m Spinning a 24p Tempest at 6200 RPM. You should run it at 3 inches P2P.

You running 6200 according to tac or smart craft?
I have really toyed around a lot with my Tracker 175TXW. After flashing the 75HP fourstroke to ~115hp and installing a 6" Vance's manual jackplate, my ideal P2P seems to be around 4.5"; any taller and I get porpoising and lower loses top end speed.
It is important to mention how to properly measure P2P. This measurement is taken with the pad or "V" level as well as the engine level and is measured from the bottom of pad or "V" to the center of the prop.

I have the Pro XS 150. The boat came with a 23p and I was hitting the rev limiter. Dealer exchanged prop to 24p for me but I still get up to 6200 “on the monitor” without hitting the limiter, which is odd. Spoke to my dealer about this and he says run it.
