Paddletail swimbaits are a staple on the front deck of my boat. But, bigger swimbaits and glides are something fairly new and I'm trying to learn to when and where to throw them and gain confidence.
My question, is how do you decide which one to throw based on location and or conditions.
For example, my first stop Saturday morning will be a long gradual sloping point with submerged hydrilla on it. Low light, potential for shad spawn activity, and hungry post spawn fish.
My 2 options I'm looking at are a 7" glide bait, or an 8" magdraft. Which would you throw first along the edge and over the top of the hydrilla? My instincts tell me the magdraft due to the early morning low light the paddletail moving water would be better but I could also see that glide bait cruising through there would grab attention as well.
Thanks
