    PVS plug questions

Ok, I've gotten three answers to my question from prop and motor "experts". I have a 2005 Ranger Z21 with a Yamaha 250HPDI. I have a Vmax 25t1 on it and it performs well. I needed a good spare so I found a Tempest plus 25p. It has no vent plugs and it blows out while getting on plane. I was told three different remedies. 1. All solid plugs to start 2. All large plugs 3. All medium plugs. I have three solid plugs I just bought. I'm looking for a good holeshot and staying on plane at slower speeds.

I bought solids for my Tempest + and drilled them out progressively larger/equally until I hit 3300 RPM at breakover. Working out great empty or full.
*I'm not an expert, nor do I play one on TV.

Did you start drilling one at a time? 5/16 hole?

Since every rig and prop is different, you need to test and adjust for yourself.

Thanks, just trying to get different opinions and different ideas. I realize every rig is unique, just looking for a starting point.

But this is why you’re getting so many different answers. There is no standard.

Rule of thumb is to start with all out then plug 1 (not a solid) in at a time until it don't blow out then you are good. I run a Tempest 25 on my 04 521 w/250 pro xs I have one with the 3/8 hole and other 2 are open.

Thanks a lot for the input. I'll be tuning it tomorrow. All I have is three solid plugs so I'll have my drill also.
