    mercury spark advance lever

    i have a 2000 90 hp ser ot331577 model 1090412yn
i noticed that my spark advance lever screw isnt going back to the stop plate its about 1/4 from it
would that cause a loss of rpms? i notice that i am only getting about 4900 to 5000 rpms lately
if so what do i need to do to get it to go on back to the stop thanks

i used the search tool on here and saw where it might be the wires . well i went back and checked and found that the wiring harness going to the trigger was pulled tight i moved the wires and it now touches the stop so
i will see if it works
