Still wished I has this one. Just out of high school and bought it for $500.00. My Mom would not let me park it front of house because she thought it was a Hurst at one time.

Hurst is a shifter
Yup! I had a 55 Chevy with a Hurst on the floor back in the early 60’s.
1997 Charger 186 TF
1997 Yamaha ProV 175
1955 Chevy 150 series Handyman Wagon.
3rd lowest production numbers from 1955 Chevys. Only around 17,000 made in '55.
The 2 door sport wagon, the Nomad had about 6,000 produced.
The rarest '55 is the 2 door Utility Sedan, they only made about 1200 of them..............they were formerly called the Business coupe or Salesman coupe, had no back seat. Where the seat bottom was they had floor supports to hold a piece of plywood with a rubber mat, ( actual Chevy parts ) and the top of the seat area was another Chevy part numbered piece of plywood that was painted. Rear windows were fixed in place.
Wasn't a fan of the Tri 5's. My only dream car now would be an all steel Willy's Coupe.
Had a 55 in high school. 1968. Original 6 cyl car I put a 409 in. Drove it for a few months then on to the next project.
I owned a 55 Nomad back in the mid 70s. I had replaced
the entire drive train front to rear. It needed paint, but that was
a monetary obstacle I couldn't handle, so I sold the car for chump change.
Just another mistake in my life. LDS

Of the "Tri 5s", the 57 was my favorite.
One of the most beautiful cars ever.
Out of the Tri5’s I owned a 56 first, then 55. Neither were in stock form.
One of the most solid cars I owned before the age of 18 was a 54 Chevy 2 door post, I had it between the 56 and 55. I bought it from a friend’s dad. Had less then 50K on it, interior was spotless, had seat covers since it was new. Ivory top, Med. green. Best $110 car I ever owned. Sold it for $400, bought the 55
I've had my share of 50s Chevys. A 55 convert in 56, a 57 convrt in 58, then in late 58 I found a sedan dely from 58. It had a straight 6 engine and running gear.
I was racing dirt at that time so nothing worked better after painting than putting my 327 engine that ran on alky into it.
I quickly changed the Hilborns to accept gas cause I couldn't stand the expense of alky.
I love them oldies!!!!
