The vast majority of them are 1.75. The 1.60 wasn't available for something like a year after the 300r came out and even then I think most are still ordered with a 1.75.

My 300xs is 1.75 gears for holeshot and tournament load but know I can still run north of 85 safely without worrying about blowout plus the Gen2 TM are really tough to prop. I will sag though I have zero experience with the new 4s Mercs.
Because the XRS is front heavy and the SM doesn't carry it well when loaded. I'm running even with the pad right now to try get it to handle better. 3 times when making sweeping left turns at 60ish mph the bow has dropped and felt like the boat was going to spin around on me. I have to slow way down to make turns, especially left turns. The main lake I fish is full of timber and I need the boat to handle hard turns well. My XRS 300xs SM lower unit boat will not come remotely close to the cornering ability of my XD 250xs TM lower boat did. And since I fish with a partner and a pretty heavy tournament load 98% of the time the boat isn't going to get over 85 anyway.

Thanks for the clarification Adam. Hope everyone gets it figured out. My SM with my 21xdc with a 30 Bravo1 corners great and I can make tight turns with no blowout. I didn’t know the XRS was so different.

My 300 R is a 1:71 - 1 sportmaster. If I don't get it figured out pretty soon there will be one for sale. I am not very happy with it at all.

I have the same setup with 21 RDC and mine runs great as well. I have ran 4 or 5 different props on my new boat and all did well. I'm currently running a 32 bravo FS and a 30 BRV5 PowerTech.

I think part of the issue with the S boats is the weight being moved forward.. Before this boat I had a 2017 XRS and while it fished great i was never really happy with the performance.

Not sure that it will work for a Bas Boat......and.....the expense is a very large deterrent for 99% of us. Would hate to hit a stump with it.....

I don't have an oil fill problem. I have a cant get out of the hole problem. It's not an XRS. It's a SST. They are different hull designs. I've had 5 different props. From a bravo to hydromotive. 28 - 31 inch. Multiple different vent configurations and they all suck. I hate to think I've got to by and try a bunch of different 5 blade props to find something to fish on. Not to mention. Finding one to play big numbers with. .

I think a 26 pitch is going to be the right prop for my 21 SDC, 300R, 160 Sporty, just need to figure out which prop, I would love to have a good hole shot and an 80 plus mph tournament loaded boat.

Yeah, there’s no way in Hades I’d buy one. Would like to try one, but that’s about it. Have never had a 5 of any type on mine, but willing to play.

Todd, that does suck! You’re not the only one I’ve heard having issues. I hope you find a solution!

Happy Kamper, did you bring your motor to get checked for 100% WOT and any other issues?
