    Steering torque

I have a 2016 Tracker 190 with a 115 four stroke SN 2B216247, the engine is in the third hole and it has a 19p X7 propeller as this is the setup most used for this boat and motor. the steering is fine until I trim the engine up to get the rpm from 5000 rpm up to 6000 rpm and then the steering gets stiff. Others have this setup with no complaints. If this is posted in the wrong forum please delete. I have tried other forums and have not gotten much advice.

Are you using cable or Hydraulic steering? If cable- is it an NFB system?

Have you attempted to adjust the trim tab? Higher speeds will require more effort- if you want to reduce the effort required you can do any (or all) of the following:

    -Adjust trim tab

    -Adjust trim angle

-Use a bigger Steering Wheel (larger diameter)

    -Switch to Hydraulic Steering

Thanks Don, I followed your advice and moved the trim tab a little and now even though it still has a little stiffness at WOT it is smooth enough I can live with it. At 40 or 45 mph where I usually run it handles perfectly.
