    Live well switch electrical issue

Hello. I have a 2018 520L with Lowrance NMEA. My livewell pumps come on by themselves sometimes and the switch on the keypad will not work (it lights indicating the pumps are on). The only way I can turn the pumps off is on my Lowrance graph. Had it to the dealer but they say ranger will not return their calls because they are short staffed. any help is appreciated.

I would "Guess" that there is something wrong in the NMEA system. Try disconnecting it from your graph and see if that corrects the problem. Also, I'd find a better dealer to deal with. They don't have someone in the shop who understands electrical ???

Thanks I will try that, but it did happen once when the graph was actually not on yet. They are are new ranger dealer and 10 minutes from my house. The next closest dealer is an hour away.

Are you saying there is a function on your Lowrance graph that allows you to turn the bilge pumps on/off. That's a new one on me. I'm guessing (remember it's a guess without looking at it) that someone has tapped into the wrong place with the power module for the NMEA, causing the pump to backfeed once it's on.

May/may not be situation here but technically, NMEA-2000 control is possible of most any switch controlled circuit in a boat......

Yes I can control most switches on my graph. The panel switches used to work but now have completely stopped. The livewell will come on by themselves sometimes and I can only turn them off by the graph. I am gettting a new switch panel to see if that is it.

While that is true, I can't see Ranger doing anything that elaborate.

Then again maybe someone has. Is the boat new to you, if not, I would take it in to a Ranger dealer and see if they know how/why it's rigged that way.

I’m the second owner but I know the first owner did not do it. The ranger dealer near me hasn’t a clue.
