Need help connecting motor to Garmin

I just purchased a pontoon with a 2016 Suzuki DF60A and would like to connect it to my Garmin 93SV Plus, what's needed?

Thank you! Okay so I think these are the cables I need while keeping my Suzuki tach/monitor, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Almost. 2/3, so not bad!

The first 2 on your list are correct, but you dont want the Reverse K8 adapter, that is the version for pre-2008 engines. You need the SIMS to SDS adapter cable.

    Then that should do it.

As you will have noticed in the article, i highly recommend cutting that adapter cable in half and soldering in a extension long enough so it will run from the engine, thru the rigging tube, and up to the back of your dash. That way the interface cable and its network connections can stay behind the dash where its dry, cool and clean. Not inside the transom area where its wet and dirty.

Good luck, it should be a straightforward install.

The article explains how to run the cables and how to do the network setup and configuration once the physical install is complete.

Thanks for the correction. Still a little confused about the initial configuration, do I still need a Lowrance unit or C10 or able to use my Garmin unit to configure the first time even though I will be using the V3.5 cable? If so I will probably just buy a Elite TI2 unit since i don't have access to a Lowrance unit or the C10. I apologize for all the questions.

As explained in the article, only Lowrance/Simrad/Suzuki devices can do the configuration.

There is a chance that you might get away with not doing the vessel setup, with a single engine it might just default to a 1 engine/1 tank setting and setting the engine location as centre. That is all the configuration that has to be done.

On the Garmin you will still need to set the fuel tank capacity up.

    See how it goes.

(If it doesnt work properly when installed, then you can always do the setup later - do you have a local Suzuki dealer? Mostly they will have a C10 or SMIS gauge sitting in the workshop and might loan it to you, or do the configuration for a small fee. Its literally a 5 minute job, and most of that time is spent unplugging the Garmin and plugging in the C10 or SMIS.)

My Suzuki dealer is 2 hours away. I will ask around and see if I can borrow a Lowrance unit from someone. Thanks again for taking time to answer my questions!
