    Ultrex problem

Yesterday my ultrex would stop working at random times, you can still steer the trolling motor but the prop will not turn. I even tried using the remote and same thing, it will steer but prop will not spin. Do you guys think that a wire came loose on my ultrex somewhere?

Sounds like maybe line or something behind the prop or broken shear pin. I’d start there

Next time it does it, stow the motor, turn the prop 90* by hand, deploy and try it again. If it starts, you may have a flat spot on the armature. Take it to an ASC. If your 3yrs or less on the warranty it should be covered.

Sounds like the momentary switch needs adjusting. If You take the top switch button off there is a little magnetic reed switch underneath that. Try bringing the reed switch up a little to make better contact. If you go to far it will stay on constantly. Little adjustments go a long way.

Will the reed switch affect the remote too? When the prop stopped working, I used the remote and it still doesn't work...

Have you loosened the bottom bolt under the prop and checked for water ?

Yes sir-- you can loosen the bottom bolt with motor deployed while on the trailer.. Any water if present should come out.
Its been an ongoing issue. A search on here should show several good threads..
    Mine was one that leaked.

Could be water in lower unit, or what is referred to as an open armature. If prop stops in a certain spot, it will not start back until the prop moves off the bad spot. If it still has warranty, take it to an ASC for repairs.
