starting battery question with Suzuki motor

    Hey Guys,
Any bass boat guys that have a DF250SS... what starting battery are you using? Upon purchasing a new motor this coming week, I'm seeing Suzuki does not recommend several types of batteries... So it seems like my Optima Blue Top would not be recommended...

    Their website shows the following:
Caution: Avoid using deep cycle battery, maintenance-free battery, lithium battery or gel cell battery.

Anybody using any of the above? any motor performance issues? Wonder if using any of the above listed would void warranty if something was linked to a battery?

Randy, I've used a X2 31 series AGM and currently using an Ionic Lithium battery and had zero issues with either battery so far. The alternator on my 250SS has charged both batteries with no issues.

31 series Pro Series batteries for everything. Have good luck with them all around in everything we have.

Had an AGM sealed Duracell size 31 from Sam's club the last 5 years on my 175DF and now using it on my new 200DF. Hope not to change.
