    New to me Allison

Been awhile posting but I’m getting back into another XB21 2+2. Any prop recommendations for this boat with a 300xs. My last boat was also a 2+2 but with a 250xs. My overall favorite for that set up was a 27 bravo XS. I also had a hydromotive 28 X-OB that was faster but the 27 was a better fishing load carrying prop.

haven’t ran a pro max but leaning towards another bravo XS but unsure of what pitch with the 300? Any recommendations.

Just to warn you...the 300XS will not hole shot like the 250XS you had. I went from a 250XS/1.75 gears/30P XOB to a 300XS/1.62/28P XOB and although I know its not apples to apples comparison I figured the performance would be the same as in great hole shot but I was disappointed. Yes the 300XS is an awesome motor and I really like mine but the hole shot is not as good as the 250XS.

I purchased a like new 1.75 case for mine now and it is a world of difference. I may never put the 1.62 back on.

Get a light flywheel and DBR tune and 1.62 will holeshot with 250 1.75.

I had 3 adults, 3 children in boat over mother day weekend and holeshot was OK even with 30 promax.

Last week I ran a 32 promax trying for 100 and with 3 adults it holeshot slow, like a ranger...only ran 98.8. Rant 99.1 with 30 promax so 32 may be too much wheel.

So if you have 1.62, I guess Im saying DBR flywheel and tune helps.

Dont have a foil on motor yet either... so there is room for improvement yet.

28 promax is most important to get. Quick and solid 94/95 mph wheel depending on temps. The extra few mph are not worth it most of the time.

The boat has a 28XOB on it. I had the same prop with my 250 and it was a good fast prop. For everyday running and fishing I preferred the Bravo XS. I've never ran a pro max so I may have to give that a try once I get a feel for how the XOB runs on this one.

The 28P XOB will run great on that 300XS.
