    Shimano Sedona Reel

I bought this reel in the 1000 size. I cannot find out how to back-reel with it. All my other Shimano spinning reels have a lever to do this. Anyone have one who can tell me what I’m missing?

    Thanks

Was just looking at the schematic drawings for the FI models. They apparently don't have an anti-reverse switch so you can back reel. All my older Sedona's do. Interesting.

Shimano went to that design a couple years ago. I have since started using Pflueger reels in the 500 and 1000 size reels. My local mom and pop bait store sells them for 3 bucks less than Bass Pro Shops. Nothing wrong with the new Shimano design as i'm not a back reeler, i just prefer the lighter weight Pfluegers President XT.

I’m using 4# mono line, so I’ll have to be fast on the drag if needed. I would have went with the
President if I knew that. Thanks for the information!
