Have you looked at wake boats or competition level center consoles or any ocean fishing vessel. Bass boats are cheap by comparison. $100K is the top of the pyramid for us. This one is just an “upper end” of the wake boat crowd it goes higher! https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2020...5-lsv-7332482/

Yes, my local wake boat dealer has a $285,000 wake boat for sale. It would take a huge truck to pull it, but someone will buy it and I hope I can avoid the waves this beast must make.

Even the mid range wake boats and/or cruisers are in the mid 100's. Watched a guy try to load up in his brand new 29' Chaparral this weekend at the ramp for almost an hour. Out of curiosity while waiting(I did offer to help and was denied out of arrogance or maybe personal pride), I looked it up, $259K. Right behind it was a new wake boat. Close to half million between the 2. Then I read how "ridiculous" the price is on bass boats and laugh. Expensive is a matter of personal perspective in what a person can afford or willing to spend. Fact is, people will and are spending money on quality boats. What I paid for my 1980 is far from "expensive" in terms of what I got for the money.

Someone could offer a $150-200k and they'd sell. There’s a market out there for every price point. And yes in the world of “expensive” boats, bass boats barely scratch the surface.

Bass boats surpassed the $100k mark several years ago. Heck a new Basscat Jaguar loaded up is well into the $120k range.

Yeah, bass boats look expensive until you look at boats in general. Salt water rigs make bass boats look positively cheap.

It is hard to imagine that some day a 100k bass boat will get old and be someones clunker.

I agree that Bass boats have went up in price, but the accessorizes add huge to the price.
As stated above, our rigs are a drop in the bucket compared to salt water boats. I seen one with 3ea. 450's on the back. Thats more in engines than a Bass boat cost, much less affording fuel for it.
Some people have more money than the average Joe realizes.
I ran an Fix Wing aviation maintenance center for 5 years. Do that, and then you get to see wealth.
One of my customers purchased Porsche Cayman for his kids one Christmas. He has 7 children. Soooo, a Bass boat is pennies for people like him.
Expensive is connected to your budget.

You can buy a well equipped VX for less than 100K, but the analogy I like to use, is every auto manufacturer, makes trucks that sell for $25-35000, but why would anyone spend $50-80000? Because the $80000 truck has things you can't get, on a $25,000 truck.

Kind of funny to think that a $50k aluminum boat is considered a poor mans boat by some, actually by more than we realize when you are out on a "go to" pleasure boating lake.

That's a lot of money to go 5 mph in a boat.
