Many accessories to the batteries? Switch, fusebox or?

    Hello,
I have been adding a lot of accessories to my 98 Ranger, and my battery compartment is beginning to concern me because of many connections to the terminals and lots of wires.

What is the best way do run at accessories? Instead of direct connections should I be running everything off the fuse block? Or perhaps should put in a secondary fuse block?

the boat has an on/off “switch” but it looks like a “custom job” from the previous owner, it is not a marine grade boat switch, what is a good switch?
I currently have 3 batteries 12v for cranking and 24v for trolling motor.

all help and advise is appreciated, thank you

Run 6 or 8 gauge wire to a second fuse box and connect everything neatly there.

ABYC says no more than 4 ring terminals connected to a battery post.

Move them all to remote terminal lugs and fuse there.

I added a bus bar assembly to get all of the extra wire connections off of the battery. I installed mine immediately downstream of the main power switch.

    First, a dedicated battery...

I installed dual fuse blocks and a bus bar to the dedicated battery.....breaker in line from blocks to battery.

Works like a charm and I don't have a bunch of wires running all over the battery boxes.... Won't cause an aneurysm just from lookin at em...hehehe

Nice looking bar. I'm looking at the 5/16" version of this bar but will still probably need to change out terminals. Too bad so many of the accessory wires already have giant sized eye terminals on them. Chargers, etc have rings for loose fit on 3/8 studs already and typically land on a 5/16" stud. Most would probably slip right over the head of a 1/4" screw.
