2017 Mercury 250 pro xs DIED ON ME

Guys just got home. Was on way to the ramp and boat shut down. I was really close to empty. But I thought I had at least 5 or 6 gallons. It died. Would not start. Trolled to ramp. Went and put 20 gallons of gas in it. Came back to ramp. Primer bulb was flat. Will not prime. Has been idling a little funny at start up only. Anyways. Lately the bulb has been had as a rock. Do I have a faulty bulb? Or faulty pulse pump?.Forgot to add VST pump runs for 2 secs. Bulb is toast. For sure.

Also what is the procedure if you do run one out of gas?

And by vertical, he means with the arrow pointing "skywards".

Was the bulb really "flat" as in, "no longer bulb shaped"?

Thanks yes it was flat. I figured it out. The pulse pump was rebuilt and a new mercury bulb. Luckily they had the parts in stock at my local boat shop. But thanks for the comments they helped alot.

Neither would be the cause of a flat bulb, That would be caused by restriction at the bulb inlet or between that point and the pick up in side the tank or a restricted fuel tank vent, such a fuel tank switching valve set to a closed position for one
    Thank You Leon Pugh
