    Need Prop Help

I have a Razor 25 Straight on a 2009 Mercury Optimax pushing a Beeline 295 dual console. The prop shaft is 3.5 inches below the bottom of the pad and I have an 8" manual plate. The hole shot is OK but not the best and top end is 64.8 at 5300 RPM. I know I need more RPM and I tried to raise the engine up 1/2" and when I trimmed out I got a huge rooster tail the speed dropped 3 MPH and the RPM went up just a little. So I dropped it back down. Do I need to drop down to a 22" prop?

I had the predecessor to this boat, a Bumble Bee 290 with a 200 Opti on it, same size JP. The Trophy 4 blades were awesome on it. I think I ran a 23P but it could have been a 24. When set up right the hole shot was great and I ran 70+ mph fully loaded with ease. Rpms were ~5600. It had some chine at WOT but wasn't hard to drive at all.
