I'm sure you'll find some in transition but water temps are just over 70 degrees.. Maybe up to mid 70s..

I am catching them in less than 12 ft of water if that helps you any.

Yes there is grass look shallow on the main lake. They are also on ledges but they are very skittish. I just spent nine days on pickwick.

You may want to hold off your trip. Pickwick has a College National Championship this weekend. They are there now practicing as well.

I went last Friday and had no luck finding any out wide yet. Saw a lot of people scanning, but never saw anyone else catch anything out there either. As of then I don't think they moved out yet, at least not in big numbers anyway. With this cold front right now it may still be a bit before they do.

Big mayfly hatch going on that I found though. That could be capitalized on shallow.

I went on Saturday and we caught a few on ledges. Grass is coming in nicely.

Which end of the lake does the grass grow the best?
