    Jigheads

Heading to Cumberland in a few weeks, likely throw small swimbaits and small works on jigheads. Heaviest I use around here is 1/4 oz, figure I'll need geavier like 3/8 or 1/2. What do y'all recommend?

    Mike,
I can't offer much advice on jigs but would be interested in hearing some fishing updates.

I've had more luck on a 3/8 than any size on Cumberland

A 1/4 will work fine until the wind gets up then you might need to go up to a 3/8 or 1/2.

I typically use more of a fish head, but honestly don't think it matters.

I use a do-it freestyle, bulletnose or a walleye jig, mainly because I have those molds. A round ballhead jig will work too. I don’t think it really matters.

3/8 & 1/2 are by far the most common sizes used on Cumberland. Cumberland is extremely trashy right now with it being quite a ways over summer pool so be careful. The night bite should be starting to get pretty good when you're there.
