Question Ultrex turns on with power switch in the off position

My Ultrex has turned itself on mysteriously a couple of times with the pedal switch in the off position. I toggle the switch and it turns off like it should. Is this a bad switch or more serious?

First check the connections on the switch. Take the bottom plate off the foot pedal so that you can access the bottom of the switch. One of the crimps may be loose and not making good contact. Just take it off and squeeze with a needle nose pliers and reconnect. Mine was doing the same and this resolved it, as others have had the same issue as well. If not, the switch may be bad

The connectors were tight to the switch. i disconnected and put them back on and so far the power has remained off, i ordered a switch anticipating it will need to be replaced shortly. Thanks for your input. Replacement appears to be something I can handle. I read that using a small screwdriver you just release or pop the switch loose from the top. Any tips are appreciated.

Mine was doing the same thing. I plugged and unplugged the connectors several times and crimped the connectors slightly with pliers and all was good for about a year. It started happening again and I plugged and unplugged it again like before and it solved the problem again.

I think a little oxidation is forming on the connectors causing a poor connection. The the module turns on when the switch is open and turns off when the switch closes. This is why the motor turns on when the connection is poor.

The on/off switch on the Ultrex works backwards to what most are accustomed. When the two white wires are disconnected, the motor is own. When they connect, it turns the motor off

The ribbon from the circuit board was loose on mine causing the phantom on/off issue..just snugged the phillips head screw down and switch turns on/off likes its supposed to now.
