    Fortrex 80 Lb

    Can anyone tell me what is causing this & how to correct it?

    You're base is mounted in a twist, causing the arm to lay in the base on an angle.

    It looks like it's rubbing in the mount due to the mount not being squared. It's (the mount) is twisted usually because the area where the mount sets in not level. Loosen the bolts until the mount is just being held with out being able to move it. Now try it. Some boats require spacers. You just have to play with it until it's tight, but not twisting the mount.

    Thanks guys. Will loosing the bolts correct it or do I need a new base. Is there any way to sand/remove these marks to see if it is working OK.
    What if I put something like the blue painters tape on it to see where the bind is, maybe?

    One other question. If this mount is twisted, is that a permanent twist or will it straighten out when the bolt are loose. Seems strange it did this, my other MK never was problem & the Fortrex used the same mounting holes.

    Use Barkeepers Friend, it's a stainless cleaner. DO NOT USE a YELLOW scrubby sponge. It's too harsh. The BLUE one works great..
