    Is a blowout ring required for Merc prop on a SHO?

    I am running a Fury 4 with no blowout ring just fine. I have run the Tempest also, no blowout ring.

    I ran a Bravo XS for years without one, ran great. Just installed one from Hydrotech, definitely changed the venting of the prop, don't have a lot of seat time with it yet.

    I'm running a Fury 4 and have run Tempest Plus, buddy is running a Bravo XS. All holes plugged, no blowout ring.
