Is a blow out ring required for Merc prop on a SHO?

It’s not required. For most rigs put all 8 solid PVS plugs in.

The cav ring fits a small barrel prop lab seal to make it the diameter of a large barrel prop. Small barrel props are vented "Over and through" the barrel. The cav ring makes a small barrel prop vent like a full barrel prop. You cant put a cav ring on a big barrel prop like a Bravo1 etc.
