    Cutting out Gas Tank Safely

Looking to see if anyone has any tips or tricks on removing the stock gas tank in a Tracker 175/190/195 range. I've siphoned out as much gas as possible; looking for tips to remove all remnants of gas before I sawzall (required) the tank out. Another member mentions that a few water/soap flushes would remove all the gas before cutting.

Any one else have this experience they can share?

    Thanks in advance

Not sure if you could slide it out of your compartment or if your just off a little bit. We just took mine out of my 95 skeeter and it gave us fits, until we hooked duct taped the fittings shut except the main one, hooked up the shop vac and collapsed it and slid it right out. Worked great. We did take the tape off of one fitting due to to much pressure. I think it would've collapsed it i to pieces.

Take it out to where a driveway meets the road and pull one side up on the curb and other in the street. I'd pull the side opposite where the fill line goes into the tank so that remaining gas goes close to where the siphon hose goes in. To make sure your siphon hose bottoms out, safety wire a short piece of copper tubing into the end of the siphon hose for weight. Be very careful with a removed tank with just a small amount of gasoline until you can fill and flush per the above.

Thanks all - got the entire gas tank gutted out. It wasn't pretty when siphoning because of the way the tank was stepped underneath the batteries. Ended up finding a good amount of reserve gas after I thought it was all out. All good now.

    Thanks all!
