Question Anyone else's Spring been dominated by a single bait?

Chatterbait has been the deal lately for me, anyone else?

    Yes.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

Yes, it's been a one rod deal all season so far.

It's been something different most times. I do have my "go to" lures but it seems I have gone from swim baits, to rat L traps, to Ned Rigs to shakey head to top water. It's been all over the place for me.

Crankbait. I could pull everything else out of the boat most of the year and just have my cranks and about 8 rods and still be consistent.

Been a brown craw KVD square bill for me. Only difference has been I've used both the shallow and deeper version. But, this has been THE bait for me so far this spring. Been a lot of dark water for me this spring and this bait has been the ticket.

Small Keitech swimbait and a senko. The spawn has been going for a month here in the Se Mo., So ILL., Western Ky. area. My grandson and I caught 28 yesterday pm on a lake in So. Ill. yesterday. The water temp has been between 58-68 deg. since early April. A lot of rainy, cooler days for sure.

Four weeks of nothing but throwing a spinnerbait but the past two weeks either a DT6 or DT10.

Topwater or flipping a stick bait has been the only thing working the last month or so. Yeah they’re rather different but there has been very little action without these 2.

Suspending jerkbait and crankbait for me mainly the past 4 trips. Yesterday fished dead limbs and brush, and a texas rigged stick bait got most.

FROG! Last weekend I wacked my personal best, a 7.76 hog. And me and my fishing partner weighed in a best ever bag for us that went 24.48!

Yep.... But alas they have moved offshore for the most part and this bite is about over. From here on out it'll be a Junebug Z-Man trick worm on a shaky head in the brush piles.

My first shaky head fish of the year came this past Friday. Beautiful spotted up bass. 18.5" weighed 3-15

Caught bass on jig, chatterbait, crankbaits, jerkbait, and a spinnerbait this year.

Crappie tubes got my interest last 3 weeks.
