Started using overhead spins with light jigs + plastics

Used to only use Beetle Spin overhead spinners, but now make my own and after quite a few years actually started casting them again. Yesterday the bite was tough considering the clear water gap over weed tops in 5-9'. Though light jigs and soft plastics got us over 40 fish the day before, I also tried the spin and caught fish. It worked excellent yesterday !

Cast out, retrieve steady at the right depth. Many soft plastics can be rigged on the 1/16 oz jigheads used with the spin.

We used 1/8oz bass spinnerbaits one day during the Crappie USA Classic on Patoka several years ago. Pulled the skirt off and just used a 3" curltail. Found a small patch of weeds (non-existence that year) and the wind started blowing into the weeds. Fish ate them up. Zero wind the 2nd day and fishing sucked.
