I had several glass bass boats. I had two bad cases of blisters on the hulls. That is a big reason I went with aluminum. It was not the price or to buy economically. It was one of those "fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice shame on me" minutes and I have never regretted owning the RT188. I was tired of fast glass boats and the big EFI engines I had would eat gas and two stroke oil like I owned a refinery.

People buy large purchases like this for different reasons and not all people need or want a glass boat. The RT188 has been a great purchase for me but that is just my opinion on the review. I never heard of those guys before so why should their opinion matter?
    Amen!

I sold my glass boat and wanted a Tin boat. I dont need my hair blown back anymore. I wanted economy and reliability and got that in my Vexus. As far as ride goes they sure haven’t ridden in some of the new Aluminum boats recently.

I have been given the Green Light to go for a Top End Glass Boat. I keep looking and dreaming, as my buddy says Boat Porn! I would like more speed, more leg room and a softer ride in a chop.
That being said and Ranger not longer makes the Intracoastal, I still will look, but for the wide variety of fishing I do, I am much more comfortable in my tin! Oyster Rub no problem. River water stain, it isn't a garage queen. Salt, Fresh, Brackish, on worries. Having to beach it to launch or retrieve, no worries. Slime or Blood on the deck (I do not have Carpet) no problem. Rub or slide it along a dock, okay.
As the Aluminums evolve, I would really consider one with slightly more of a Vee for the softer ride in a chop.
But much more mentality comfortable in my tin.

What Panama said. I could buy whatever I wanted, but the Ranger fits my fishing style and can get into places a glass boat couldn't.

Yes those guys know alot but they think anything that is aluminum or says tracker or nitro is automatically a POS. are they the best brands out there ? Not even close. Are they as bad as alot of people think ? Not even close. My tracker is 20 years old never an issue original carpet and decks. I have a buddy with a 30 year old tracker all original everything carpet decks wiring etc... They're built to meet a certain price point. No more and no less. I can tell you I have been in a lot of higher end boats and the fit and finish was not any better than a tracker of less than half the price. Alot of people are paying for the name on the side of the boat.

Bottom line is the "K " factor , 20 to 40 Thousand less for tin boat that will do almost everything a glass boat will do. Sure my boat won't run 70 mph but I'm fine with that . Question is how many " Ks" do I have to spend to be cool with a YouTube guy ?

That dude is the IKE of youtubers. Always whining and running his trap, some people feel they have shit all figured out and they damn well have to share with the world. The internet has turned everyone into self proclaimed prophets of information.

I will say this, I fish tournaments 2-3 times a month. Half the time I’m a boater in my tin with a coangler and half the time in in a 20’ Triton with a 250 and dual poles. Yeah I want a glass rig again. I won 2 tourneys ago and it’s nice seeing all those pretty gals boats getting beat by a tin with a 90 on it! The next weekend was blowing 20+ and if I weren’t in the big Triton I’d never have been able to keep the boat positioned and the poles help so much!

Like everything there are positives and negatives. If I want to fish topwater right before dark it’s super easy for me to drop my little tin at a local lake. But when I’m on Okeechobee, Toho, Harris Chain, etc I’m limited. I know I’m outgrowing my tin so I’m saving for an 18TRX, love that boat!
