The family wants to try something different this year and go and hit some spots in Indiana instead of Wisconsin this year for Bass. If anyone has any suggestions on places please let me know.

I'm not trying to be smart, but I would reconsider my options. What time of year?
July mid month
If you don't mind smaller lakes the northern half of the state has a bunch of lakes that are all close to each other. Fishing can be pretty good as well.

Wisconsin may be (is) the better choice... IMO.
Yup the bass fishing LIKE the deer hunting is BELOW average compared to surrounding states....(

Mid summer- I'd be on a river chasing smallmouth s.
St Joe river, Kankakee river, Tippycanoe river, etc.
Good luck!

What are the depths of the St Joe in Northern IN? I have been up to St Joe in MI and know its fairly deep and hope to get up there to try sometime this year but don't know squat about it near me. Do you need to be concerned about hitting things?
Its been several years that Ive been there, but instead of Indiana, Id go to the Coldwater chain of lakes in MI. Fished many tournaments up there years ago. 4" worms on the individual weed clumps used to be the ticket to win the tournaments..
I would not come south of INDIANAPOLIS in mid July for any reason. lol. Fishing can be tough.
Lots of camping in the extreme northern half. Many lakes have good fishing. Get yourself a map and check out all the lakes that are less than 100 acres. Many of those won't have the big tournaments going them. Bigger chains like Lake James, Crooked Lake, Clear Lake, Wawasee, Webster, etc. can be really busy and have extreme fishing pressure. Look on the map for the smaller lakes around them. Plenty of fishing opportunities. Good luck
This is the link to the DNR interactive map.. it tells you if a lake has public access or not, type of access and what species you will find.
